  •  :) :) :) No, it's not an African name... I am from India and been in US for 14 yrs. One of my friends suggested that "Shan" is like a new age, easier to remember name and I agreed. I introduce myself as "Shan" and when you get to know me more, leave it up to them to call me Shan or Shantanu ( And I would be interested to know from you if it sounds exactly as it is written) I will tell you what it means later?
